As the official academic publishing platform of Necmettin Erbakan University, NEVA Press upholds internationally recognized standards of publication ethics across all of its journals. At every stage of the publication process, the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) are followed.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
- Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published elsewhere or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
- Research data must be presented accurately and honestly; data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism are strictly prohibited.
- Everyone who has made a significant scientific contribution to the manuscript must be listed as an author; individuals who have not contributed should not be included (ghost or honorary authorship is not accepted).
- All sources used must be properly cited.
- Any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could constitute a conflict of interest must be disclosed.
- Studies involving human or animal subjects must have obtained approval from the relevant ethics committee, and this approval (institution name, date, decision number) must be clearly stated in the manuscript; informed consent must be indicated for studies involving human participants.
- If a significant error is discovered in a published article, the authors must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Reviewers should agree to evaluate only manuscripts that fall within their area of expertise and should provide a timely and objective assessment.
- The review process follows the principle of double-blind peer review; reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.
- Reviewers must keep the content of manuscripts under review confidential, must not share it with third parties, and must not use it for their own research without permission.
- Evaluations must be based solely on scientific merit, independent of the author's nationality, gender, religious belief, political views, or commercial concerns.
Reviewers who believe they have a conflict of interest should decline the review and inform the editor.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
- Editors make publication decisions based solely on the scientific value, originality, clarity, and relevance of a manuscript to the journal's scope; the identity, institution, or other personal characteristics of the authors do not influence the decision.
- All information regarding submitted manuscripts is kept confidential until publication.
- Editors investigate allegations of ethical misconduct such as plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication, or authorship disputes in accordance with COPE flowcharts, and publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern where warranted.
- Where a conflict of interest exists between editors or between an editor and an author/reviewer, the decision process is delegated to an impartial third party.
Plagiarism and Similarity Check
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold are rejected prior to review or returned to the authors for revision.
Research and Publication Ethics Standards
Our journals are published in accordance with the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and COPE guidelines. Clinical research published in our pediatric journals must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki.
Correction and Retraction Policy
If a serious error or ethical violation is identified in a published article, the journal's editorial team reviews the matter in accordance with COPE guidelines and, where necessary, issues a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction notice. Such notices are permanently linked to the original article and remain openly accessible.
